Do the Mazda Rx-7 brakes have a safety stop that will grind the rotor once the pads wear to a certain point? I'm on a budget: what are good brake pads to get? NAPA pads are around $20 and I was thinking of getting those, but is the material compatible with the rotors (semi-metallic, organic, etc)? Thank you.

those pads should be fine, the factory 12a pads squeak and make all kinds of noise

Thanks Mike. How about those front rotors? Do you know a place that sells them for less than $80?

mazdatrix has em for $65, you need to eplace the bearings if you do the rotors on a 1st gen though

What if the bearings are new? Can't I reuse them?

On a first gen when the brakes go you might as well do calipers, bearings, pads and rotors. They're old cars.
