Fuel Problems.

I cranked down my adjustable FPR and its still flooding out my engine when its running.I don't get it.The FPR is new so it should be getting next to nothing for fuel yet as soon as I put the pump fuse in she wants to flood out.Any suggestions as to why this is.The carb is a like new weber 45DCOE with a Holley FPR which is new as well.This is on a 83 Rx7 with a SE 13B motor swap.Any help on my pressure problems is greatly appreciated.

Do you know the actual pressure? You can hold a vacuum/pressure guage up to the output of the FPR and have somebody turn the pump on. It will move the needle up to a certain amount and then should stop. We did that with a Holley pump and FPR and it's now set perfectly. I may need to get a Holley FPR for my big 6-8PSI 100GPH Carter pump I just installed on my GLC. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...t=CRT%2DP4600HP

not sure on actual pressure yet.I plan on ordering a tester ASAP I do know that the FPR is cranked down as far as it will go.

My FPR is boost/vacumn dependant. If you turn it on when the car is off, its like 15 psi. when the car is idling its at like 5. So it could be that.



I installed a kill switch for my fuel pump, the ONLY way i can get it started is by taking these steps:



1) before turning off the ignition from a drive, turn off the fuel pressure, let the engine burn all the gas in the carb. THEN turn off the key.



2) when starting up, start the car without fuel pressure, then turn it on as soon as the car fires up.



This works nearly every time.

What a pain in the ***.



Theres gotta be a better way than that?

MIne is similar for starting.Its when its running and I put the pump fuse in tho it wants to flood out within the first 15 seconds so I pull out the fuse and the idle smooths out.I need to buy a fuel pressure tester after work tommorow and see what pressure this carb is getting.I want to drive a 13B again.

Now I'm starting to worry about my 13B. I have the monsterous pump that will be dead-headed on a stock 13B Hitachi carb that expects to get 5PSI. I don't want to have to buy a FPR, but I might need to. I guess I could swipe the one off the REPU, but my other big Carter is going on it. I got two of those 100GPH pumps from Summit. Eep!

You need a pressure gauge right after the FPR to see whats going on in there. After that then you can see whats going on.

Before...........FPR......but after fuel injectors/rails.

Just ordered a fuel pressure testing kit today.$400 later I hope I can find my problem.
