Well, spent some time with Dave today and he's having one made for me. They are taking a existing new driveshaft and cutting the tube off and putting on a longer tube to fit my FB. It's going to be $272 plus tax. He was going to get all new parts individually but all of them added up plus labor would turn out to be 600+!!! So we went the other way. From what he says the only down side of going with the $272 shaft is it's going to be 2.5" instead of 3" like the $$$$ one but that shoulden't matter much I guess because It will still have replaceable u-joints.



What do you guys think?

haha, well if it works for you then it works for me then



Now I just have to wait a week to get it and make sure it fits.



Funny thing is he said the drive shaft they are cutting apart is for some dodge car or truck. Is it common for a foregin and a domestic to share the same yoke and flange?

oh yeah also, do you know if the T2 pinion flange is the same as a FB flange??

Well the driveshaft came in today.... 3" TOO SHORT! needless to say it's on it's way back to CA to "grow up"

haha, did it bolt up to the pinion and go into the tranny like its supposed to?

I didn't get to actually see it. He got it in and measured it, then he sent it back. I almost wish he didn't notice it was too short then I could have brought it home to inspect it and make sure the flange/pinion slip is right.

I got it today turned out better than I thought it would have. The u-joints seem to be the same size as T2 units but they are replaceable and greaseable so I really liked that.

For those that are going to have one made it's 39 7/8" from the pinion flange to the center of the front U-joint or 42 3/16" from the pinion flange to the transmission seal. I guess different shops measure different ways, found that out Total came to $302 with shipping/tax.
