how would i go about cleaning them, or do i just need to invest into a new carb?

If it is the carb, it will need to be completely diassembled, cleaned and put back together. You will need a carb kit from an auto parts store, a shop manual, and if you have never rebuilt a carb before, the assistance of someone who has.

well thanks for all of the advise. ive found a carb rebuild kit for $20 out of victoriabritish.com, which i highly recommend anyone to check out, well worth it. sometime this week a friend and i will be disassembling the carb. if all else fails, then ill start over. thanks guy.

just rebuilt carb.....still having the same trouble....dont think the floats were stuck...but how would i know if the were....accelerator pump was fine, i replaced it though, but im still confused and getting a little angry.......advice all mighty?

floats were not stuck. needles and jets are fine. should i move to the ignition, because i cannot find anything wrong with the carb to be honest, but hey, what do i know.

damn that was the next choice! there is a solenoid in the carb to open the return line back ti the tank, its the 1 wire on the carb, does that work?
