13b Swap
#4
I've had minimal experience with carb turbo setups. But have read about the advantages of different types etc (Maximum boost, by corky bell). But exactly what can you expect out of a 12a blow threw turbo setup? Sounds like good numbers, but i can't imagine them getting that high. At what point would you want to convert to FI for more power? or can the carb sustain just as much?

Look my opinion go the route i took, had a 12a,swaped for a bridgeported 13b,standard bridge, then threw in a racingbeat holley kit..650 of coarse and headers and a streetstrip cluth. Im running 13's high 12's.
i had a j bridge and it was well tuned with a 51 weber, 513 gears open exhaust in a 85 g model rx7, its best 1/4 mile time was 13.7 on full slicks!!!

That is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.
I ran 13.9 with a street ported 12A, holley, street tires, and muffled.
Either you can't drive, can't build an engine, or can't tune worth a damn.

anybody can go high 13 1/4 but once you get into the 12 sec range you better have some tricks up your sleeve or a p-port!!
p.s. we have a fast all motor car ...fully gutted 13B p-port full race car that went 11.40 1/4.......but it was a race car, here we are talking about a cheap reliable fast quiet way to upgrade your rotary.............
dollar for dollar, blowthrough is the way to go!!!

uhh, there is a big difference between a 14 sec. car and a 12 sec. car........
What you are saying is that you weren't making any more power with a tricked out 13B than I made with a mild, streetable 12A that I drove every day for years, in rain and snow, and got over 20 mpg.
I'll say it again: That is
