I have waited long enuff and the time has come. AEM the maker of the Wolf 3 D has ignored me far too long and the only thing that I can do is to vent about the poor buisness ethics they have on forums. I have owned the Wolf 3d ver. 3.1 and didnt have much a problem with it , but when I built my new engine I needed something alittle more then the 3.1 so I picked up a Wolf 3D ver.4.0 from Redline Racing out of australia where I bought my ver 3.1 from. Well after getting the new system all wired in and finding out I needed to run a FD ignitor with it and 4 coils I call up Chris from Wolf 3d usa wich should have been an eye opener for me as this is where my problems started but I just blew it off.

First off Chris tells me that he shouldnt even be conducting buisness with me for the simple fact that my engine managment system was not US bought and then he tells me it pisses him off when he hears of people buying the ems from out of country cause it dips into his profits. He asks me why I buy from australia, simple answer is the coast is much more inline when buying from australia then from him. Well for some reason he desides in his kind heart to give me the proper wiring diagram for the Fd ignitor/4 coil set up for my fc. I wire it in after finding out that the wire dia was incorrect and had 2 wires backwards, a simple fix and anyone could have made the mistake off the top of there heads. He also gave me a starter map to use to get my cosmo re motor fired up and running with what he said was spot on for the sensors that i had( ie. ect, tps, iat ect...) . OK i up load the map and find out the timming part of the map was backwards and I posibly wouldnt even have gotten the car onto the trailer with that map with out an engine failure not to mention the calibration for before mentioned sensors where way way off , the water temp was 70degf and the computer showed 190 and the air intake temp was of just as much. OK so the map was screwed up so after seting all the damn cals tables and having a good freind of mine look at the map, laugh at me, then fixed it we where on ower way to tune the car on the street at a low rpm low boost break in the motor type of tune.

We noticed something funny about the way the Wolf was reacting. The timming was jumping all around on us, I would set the timming get it spot on with what the wolf was reading then i go to check it again and it would be off again, way off. After dickin around for a few hours with the timming , moving the CAS harness around and away from the alt the timming was set and had not moved. We go for a short run, the car started to sputter above 3000 rpm massivly like a miss fire or a detination and the signal errors where jumping by 10 fold we bring the car back. Check timming again find it way off again , go to adjust it and with out even moving anything or even touching the CAS with a wrench the timming comes back to perfict. UMMMMM OK that was odd. From there we go to check the map. Find the map was gone, car wasnt starting anymore and had nothing. Reuploaded the map and this time switched to a differnt lap top as we thought it may have been an error with the conection with the one we where using. Same thing blanked map. Uploaded a map again started all over . The car was finnaly starting to run great. Got the car tuned to 8000 rpm with a 11.2 a/f @ 19psi with a total flat air fuel under wide open full load blasts. car cruzed well but was rather rich and the timming was retarded some. We where goin to retune after my motor broke in somemore. Well I get 700 miles on the motor, had a few issues with timming and air temp cals files as well as water temp cals files never staying the same so i just turned them off. We go to retune the car, car turns out great. I drive it home 45 miles, park it for about 30 min then go out for a run. I get 3 blocks from home, shift from 1st to 2nd at 5500rpm. the engine tone changes. crap no power, car still boosted but no power, little vacum and sounded like only 1 rotor. I turn around get home check compression. No compression in rotor 2. **** there goes $6000 down the drain in 700 miles. I go to check the wolf map and find out the map was blanked above 50% load and ignition went to -11.7 every map point all 32x32. Well there is the reason for the motor failure. The map blanked.

I contact Steve @ aem australia about the issue at hand, was determand that the failure was due to a chip inside the wolf that burnt up. UMM ok lets fix the thing. so he sends a new chip, took 6 mounths to get here. Come to find out the chip that was sent is from a differnt manufacurer , one of 3 chip companies wolf has doing there dirty work. I was asured that this was ok and to go ahead and get the computer repaired and things would be ok. Now remeber that I can not do buisnes with Wolf USA because the computer was bought out of country so there for I cannot have this thing warrentied in country and need to send it over seas to have fixed if need be. Well new chip is in, plug the ecu in, go to fire it up, found no rpm signal. Not only that but I could not get comunication with the wolf to the lap top. I checked what I could with the hand controler first, ie the engine configuration, then got into checking the CAS and then the wiring from the CAS to the wolf. Everything checked out ok so by process of elimination find the computer is burnt up. Or the new chip has something to do with it. Call australia up again. Steve says send it to me ill check it out , repair or replace the unit and ship it back to you with in a week or so. Cool , I spend $161 shipping the thing overnight to him , he signed for it on 8-10-06 so I gave it a few weeks before I called them up after not receiving an email or phone call telling me the state of my computer. The woman that runs the show answers, I ask for Steve she replys he cannot come to the telly and that he is busy with stuff, STUFF!!!!!!!! What the **** does stuff have to do with me askin where my computer is????? Now its 10-25-06 and still am without a ecu and no word from anyone at wolf. I call them , no anwser, I email and no responce, I leave voice mails with no responce.

Never once did I ask for some reembursment for the blown motor inwich was prooven to be a computer failure and not a tuning issue. All I wanted was to get my damn computer fixed so I can drive the damn car again. Its been down a year now and winter is here now so I guess it will be down for almost 2 years now again!!!!!!!!! So for anyone who was thinking about buyin a wolf think again as I just today found out they compleatly dropped the ver4.0 aka v400 and now only sell the v500 and do not even sell parts for the 4.0 any longer. I am also going to asume that I will never see my computer again and that $1600 of my hard earnd money will be lost for good with the money that was spent on the product wich I sent for repairs not to mention all the blood sweat and tears and money that went into my motors and car that are just sitting waiting to be driven once again. To me this has got to be one of the worst companies I have personaly delt with and warn anyone about them aswell but do what you want to.

sorry for the length but i really had no place else to go with this as it is not a us company so its not like i can get a lawyer or anything and dont think the bbb can help but maybe ill check into that.
