I'll take that into consideration. I have heard about the rear wiper fuse (even on the base models) but I didn't remember which systems it was tied into. I'll have to find a wiring diagram to check it though, my fuse panel cover is long gone. But wouldn't the rear wiper fuse disable the ABS comp then, which wouldn't go along with the troubleshoot result that I mentioned earlier?

If I decide to nic the P/S, what is the proper way to do so? Loop the lines? Block the lines? Retrofit a manual rack? What's the scoop on that?

And hey Grey, wanna sell me your GTC wing? I'll be your beeeeest friend!!

So what are your recommendations on how to eliminate the P/S?

remove pump and all associated lines

place a pan underneath rack and move steering wheel lock to lock 4 cycles to remove excess hydraulic fluid

fixture the 2 fittings at the rack so as to accept a rubber hose and loop them

plug the 4 holes at the pinion area of the rack assembly

i did the above in 99 and it works for me. i also removed my a/c, airpump and installed a pulley kit so i run one 30 inch 5 rip dayco poly cog belt p/n 5050303

Maval Gear also does full manual rack conversions for a fairly reasonable fee. This should feel even better than the looped rack and should have less effort.
