so I work in a building that's not very large, and doesn't hold a whole lot of people. (for you die-hard locals, it's the Holland building, behind the Vietnam memorial flag). I pull in to park my bike, and there's a gold GXL parked nearby! I hardly ever see any rx-7 around, so this came as a surprise to me, because I've never seen this particular car. And it looks to be in sooo much better shape than my gold base. I'm jealous!

oh, and fritz, I think I saw your car on Appalachee parkway...nice! I can't believe I managed to come out of my dazed state to see an fd coming the opposite direction. If it wasn't your car, then there's another red base fd running around here somewhere.

another gold fc? in this town? what are the chances of that??? did you make contact, LOL?

unless the red fd you saw had an odd molding down the side, i'd bet it was me.

nice pic! I've never seen it from that angle before (the memorial...well, your car too)

yeah, I left a note on the car. Hopefully they'll sign on here. If you would like, I can have my contact at the DMV run the plate, and I could get a name.

Patrick,

if it was the below car then I've met the guy...Stuart, and he gave me his phone number but not his email...funny thing, he's like 50 or older and he has a downpipe while mine is bone-stock.

But, i have an email contact (Chris Skinner, 94 SSM Touring) whom I still haven't seen or met [i can't understand it either] who says he saw a black fd and a red w/ black hood fd in town. I'm either blind or they were just passing through. Even if i was in my Sentra, if i saw either of those i would follow them all day 'til they stopped hehe.

i'm beginning to think we should plan a very casual meet just for the hell of it...if we wait for me to plan a bigger event we may all never meet.

It may have been his car, since I don't remember the spoiler.

I've seen a black FD, but no red with black hood.

A casual meet would be nice, but I need to get my car in running shape . It needs new bearings, and maybe some brake stuff, since I did the 5-lug swap.

just curious, whereabouts did you see the black fd? i'm like the only one who hasn't seen it.

i've heard about that lug conversion a couple of times now..why does one do this? is it difficult to do? hope you'll have your car up soon.

dropped by classic car meet at Whataburger today...some nice older corvettes that looked in perfect condition..as far as new cars, there was a newer corvette and a nice dark-silver viper.

crap, I always forget when the whataburger this is going on. Oh well, I had stuff to do.

The black fd belonged to a guy that worked at ACE hardware on Tharpe street (now closed). He seemed to be in his 20's, nice guy, but I can't remember his name. He said he got it from his friend who went to jail, and needed someone to take over payments. The only noticeable mods were a fat muffler and tinted window, from what I can remember. I know he said something about getting all the hoses replaced with hard hoses, but I don't remember much of that conversation.

The 5-lug rims are 15" (4 lug are 14"), the rotors are bigger I think, and the front calipers are 4 piston.

hey Eric,

no that wasn't me..I live off of Miccosukee. If it was a 3rd gen see reply# 4 above. I've seen a red 2nd gen. I saw a red vert for sale in the paper. Actually, there was a black 2nd gen in my neighborhood but the guy sold it before i could talk to him..hopefully it stayed in town.

what did i tell ya, we're still trying to plan a meet.
