Problem With Single Turbo Conversion
#1
Just trying to get an idea of what may be wrong with a friend's car (he's on the list). He recently converted to single turbo on his stock port engine. T04S, nothing radical. I have a T04S map that has been shown to be very rich on the dyno on two other vehicles with street ports. The map came from a major RX7 shop/racer/tuner. So I thought it would be fine for his car. Turns out it's so lean the car won't even accelerate cleanly in the vacuum range. I literally had to add 50% fuel through the datalogit (power FC) and about another 10-15% on top of that. Once that was completed, the car ran fine in the vacuum range (I only had time to work through the vacuum range and not the boost) and accelerated without a hiccup. I've doublechecked the injector settings but for the life of me, I can't figure out why a stock port engine would need almost 70% more fuel than a ported motor. The local shop made sure the fpr vacuum line was hooked up. Anyone else ever see anything like this? I even took the map I currently run with (Cosmo 13B large street port, GT40 compressor, etc...). On my car,no problems. On his, it won't run. Too lean. Suggestions?
