stock oil coolers are 20x1.5

not 22

The part number( m22 to -10 adpt X2 pn: m22an10 $6 X2)is for the aftermarket oil coolers, not the stock ones.

Hrm...I was told that the oil coolers (stock) are 22...perhaps it's the fittings in the line? I dunno...I have both male/female in 22. Had planned to install the additional cooler this weekend but ran out of time. FD, you positive on this? Are you referring to the fittings going into the cooler (stock) itself or the fittings in the lines just before the stock oil cooler?

jspecracer7 08-03-2003 09:55 PM

The part number I am referring to is NOT to be used for stock oil coolers. I am giving a part number for a 25 row aftermarket oil cooler, NOT the stock oil coolers.

The write up is for those people who wanted to know how much a single oil cooler upgrade would cost. I gave them the part numbers for that, NOT the stock oil coolers. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Mocal comes in various sizes. You can get them in 8AN through 14AN I believe. Where exactly would the M22x1.5 go?

I got a ton of pm's asking me to hook them up on aftermarket oil coolers for $200. I did my math wrong and it was actually $300~ to get a 25 row strab oil cooler with a/n fittings and -10 hose.

The 22 is for the AFTERMARKET oil coolers, not the stockers https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

I understand that, but I'm asking WHERE you're going to use a 22mm fitting on the aftermarket oil cooler if the actual fittings on the cooler are 10AN and the braided lines are 10AN? Sorry to be a PITA, I'm just not understanding where you're using the fittings on the aftermarket cooler. FD's saying that the fittings on the stock cooler are 20mm not 22 (which I was told) and there are additional fittings on the stock oil cooler lines. If you "branch" off one of the oil cooler lines that run to the stock oil cooler, you'd need an adapter which I'm "hoping" is 22mmx1.5. Is that what you're referring to????

oops :P

on the oil cooler itself. It's threaded on the bottom(or top...whichever way you want to mount it) You add the M22 -10 adapter to it and make your oil cooler lines to the engine.

sorry for the mix up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

jspecracer7 08-03-2003 11:49 PM

Wait a second...I think I know where the mix up is.

The part numbers I gave out are to completely replace the oil coolers, not add an oil cooler to the existing one. Is this what your trying to do?

jspecracer7 08-04-2003 07:41 PM

Update!

Igy found the oil coolers on summitracing's website. They're cheaper and come with the fittings. Problem is that the 25 row oil coolers are on back order. Here's the info:

EAR-42510 Oil Cooler, Temp-A-Cure, 25 Row 7 3/4`` High, -10 AN Male Fitting, Wide $162.39 B/O

That sounds like the Crooked Willow setup, assuming you replace the 1st one as well (less carbon ducts). Has anyone ever settled the which is better: One large or two small oil coolers?
