These are pretty much the goals of half the people who post here I would assume. Looking good. |
This thing is going to be a bitch to get into with the sidebars. Mabye I should do removeable afterall?
|
Not really, I sat in Ray Wilsons old red rx7 a couple of times. He had the side bars. I didn't notice it being a big deal to get into.
|
Yeah, as long as he dips the bar low enough it shouldnt be a problem. SHes gettin close now :0
|
The chassis guy i'm using has been tied up by some greek punk for the past two weeks, so no new updates.
|
I'm picking up the car tomorrow. Engine rebuild this weekend for the port job, gonna try to be on the road sometime next week.
|
I finally got the car, the finished fabrication looks BADASS!
the sidebars do not really hinder the entry/exit of the car at all. The DP is looking good too. Dumbass me forgot my camera, so pics will have to wait till tomorrow. |
Any one making a twin turbo manifold like that for the FD ? , I want one .
|
Maurier, I will ask him if he wants to jig the manifold and make another.
He might not, as he is very busy and the market for twinturbo manifolds is not exactly huge. I am also trying to get my car back together so i dont know if i want to take it apart and wait for him to replicate it. But I will ask him for you anyways.. new pics of the sidebar/dp |
|
Note the tight but good fit of the sidebar. It really isnt too hard (for my scronny ass anyways) to get in and out of the car. The cage is very comfortable while sitting in the car, it's almost like a armrest https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

The fabrication stage of the build is DONE!
I am going to put the car back together with the stock motor. I dont have the budget to rebuild the motor with all new seals/springs so i am just going to wait. This will give me a chance to make sure everything works. And, I will get to drive the fucker around for once, it's been sense AUGUST! Transporting the car via demetrious' trailer Funny, a (potential) 9 second car with no paint https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif |

Luckily I dropped it of for the paint shop today with no engine in it. At least soon you can kick their buds when they look down on you.... If it helps Demetrious I would be in line for all the piping myself. CW |

There is actually plenty of head room. The roof bars will be getting some padding though. |

Yeah I did not want to sell it, but i'm not going to half ass this car.
|
Man, that thing is looking awesome. I hope to follow along the same lines somewhat with my FD, but I am using 99' twins and shooting for 360-380hp.
BTW, what kind of wheels are those? I really like that style. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif |
work maximer F2, they were a custom order wheel from japan, as far as I know there is one set in the us (me) and one in PR.
They are actually built by stern, but for some reason work rebadged them. I have the stern centercaps.. -bobby |
Hmm...any way to give a percentage of completion on this project?

knowing bobby, about 20% so far https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
Well,
Now I am on MY schedule as far as working on the car is concerned. I still have a **** load of stuff to do, but I will work a lot faster then the fab guy does https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I'd say it is at about 65% done. The fabrication was the major chunk of the work that needed to be finished. The new PPF for the transmission still needs to be made, but that is "3 hours of work" according to kayo. Here is the List of things to do: Tear down motor and inspect Order rebuild kit order 10lbs wastegate springs from tial port intake and exhaust assemble motor install motor make s/s coolant lines (mabye) Install r1 oil coolers+ s/s lines GET THE TRANS! They are taking forever! Cut the trans tunnel for the shifter Take the car back to kayo's for the stainless steel torque arm install driveshaft tune... |
