The system pictured is great for household use, it is not an automotive unit. The gas used in that unit is generally R22, not R12 or R134a. They have different cooling properties, and R22 does not work well in automotive applications, it was tested when the Clean Air Act of 1990 was put into effect, dozens of large chemical producers such as Dow, and others all went to work to find a R12 replacement. The most efficient was R134a and has been used in automotive A/c since 1992. Most automotive systems cannot handle the pressures associated with R22 and therefore it was dismissed as a viable option. Some of us on here are more automotive orientated when it comes to mechanical apptitude. Not all of us are mechanical engineers, nor do we claim to be. What we are telling you is that the way you orignally were trying to do this with an automotive compressor is not going to work.



And please, do us all a favor... hit spell check before your next post. Nothing is worse than trying to read someones response who wants to show they are educated on a subject, when they cannot type in complete sentences, or letters are missing or completely misspelled.

epion. i gave you the benefit of the doubt in my first post..and yes i have worked with refrigeration. i worked on ac systems in buildings for 6 months last year. ahem now on to what you said. you stated that you could make this setup for $200 in one of your post. i don't believe that at all. then you stated that we moved on from the jacket concept and that you agreed that it wasn't worth it. i just reread this entire post and nowhere did you say "okay i agree thats seems to difficult" or anything like that. then you posted that you were going to spray your refrig. into the chamber where water goes to cool the turbo, on a water cooled turbo. lol that is the stock coolant system. so you are going to spray r134 or whatever else into the coolant system/radiator. lol i think not. i can understand what you are thinking about but it really seems like a waste of time, money, and space. but if you still belive that you can do all this..then go ahead and do it on your current car. i bet if you are as good as you say you are then you can have this up and running in no time. i am waiting for you to prove us wrong. don't forget to take pics to! other wise people will say the same thing..all over again. on a side note i am glad that you are here and trying out new ideas and what not its interesting to see things through other peoples eyes
