I wonder if some of them don't know why in the hell you'd be waving.. because they have no idea what an RX7 looks like, or why they should care.

 

Like I said in my other thread most of these guys are gay. A handfull are really into them.

i agree, most of the new rx8 owners dont even know that they are rotary, or probably think rotary is a type of piston engine, and like most people dont even know what an rx7 is....... they probably thought a guy in a viper was waving at them.

 

When the 8 was first coming out my friend and I were out cruisin in his FD and saw a red one sitting in a parking lot. This being the first 8 we'd seen, he pulled over, parked right next to the guy and we talked to him for a little bit. We told him nice car, blah blah blah and he opend the hood and whatever. After talking to him for a bit we found out that he was the owner of the business we were parked at and that he had just walked into the Mazda dealer the day before on a whim and bought the car over lunch....cash. He said that it was the DD and there was a 360 Modena sitting in his garage as the toy. The whole time my buddies FD was sitting right next to the 8 and this guy never said a word about it. This was just a few months ago and yesterday when I drove by I saw a "for sale" sign on the car. Rich people....

 

I always wave at every RX7 I see around here, but the sad thing is....here, it is pretty much the opposite...Most RX7 drivers don't know what they are driving...



And it's true...most RX8 drivers don't know what they have, they just think it's cool they are driving a new expensive car they saw on TV...

During the summer, I hardly ever use A/C, so my windows are down 98% of the time. If not, I roll down the window to wave

 

i used to think that of FD drivers when i was prancing around in my lowly FB. now i prance around in my not so lowly FD and and only get revs off hondas.



but yeah only a few rx8 owners know about the heritage of the rotary.

but u know, who cares. if they keep buying them the more chances of a new rx7 or super/turbo charged rx8.
