they also were quite prepared for being turboed, and having to drop a few thousand bucks for a turbo kit on a car that's already 20-30k doesn't seem like that great of a thing to me. The renesis still has to lower that compression a bit, and to slap on that supercharger. Once it does that i think it will be a complete beast. I'd love to see what it could handle when it gets that mazdaspeed touch.

Like I've been trying to say, the Renesis is pretty much built as stout if not better than the REW, it also has 6 ports like the old NA's...it's the best of both motors. The only thing going against it is it's high compression. But that just means less boost is needed to make the same power, and you have to be just a little more careful with the tuning. Supercharged? No way.....I wouldn't like that.

 

It is 6-port? Whoa, that is neat. Does the 5th and 6th port kick on at the normal 5800rpm level, or is it higher up this time? I honestly have never driven in one, nor have I been inside one. I want to take a ride in Fe3Boost's -8 but he seems very busy lately.



And on the high compression rotors, what is the compression level? Is it higher than the S5 n/a's? I am guessing there are not rotors that can be swapped(with lower compression) to compensate for a higher amount of boost?



And a supercharger would not be very fun. I prefer a supercharger on the 03-04 cobras because I'm fuity!

 

The 5th and 6th ports open up at 6250RPM in the Renesis. The comp ratio is 10:1. the Renesis rotors are unique in that they have an extra seal on the flanks....none of the other rotors are compatible without some work.

Not much difference in the RPM's for the 5th and 6th ports. Just an extra 450. But they pushed the redline up 9250. That right there amazes me. A free revving STOCK form engine that goes up to 9250.



I figured the comp ratio was up there, but christ, 10:1!! That is very high. Extra seal on the flanks? Whad'dya mean? I have only seen S4 n/a rotors up close. I can't find any pictures either, I googled it.

 

The cut-off seal is basically another side seal.



It goes where the yellow is.
