Hello, I creating an account to ask for some help on an '05 RX-8 I found. Guy is asking $2,500 for it, it has 89,000 miles and the only issue seems to be the dreaded "hot start". I know people automatically point towards an engine rebuild but I've checked the vin and saw it has multiple recalls including a fuel pump which I've heard has been something that leads to these kind of issues. I've also been told replacing the starter, battery, spark plugs, and such can also fix this problem while others say it's just a band aid. Is it worth the risk or should I stay away? I'm personally willing to deal with whatever the issue is either it being an engine rebuild or something smaller like a new starter. I'm wanting this to be a project car and I already have a daily so if it sits in the shop it won't kill me. Thank you for the help.
