i have 4.88s in my se... but for you to get them i also will need another diff to put in there... so it would be the diff + cash

Do gears from the se's swap right into the non-se's? Or does it have to be a 3rd member swap?

you can change it out... but something has te be swapped from your diff... its the bearings that hold the half shaft... those have to be switched.. the 4.88s were in a 83 pumpkin before i got it so i have already done this once... switching over the bearings or whatever they are called to make it work for the SE... so all i would have to do is switch them back
