Thumbs down

Now I'm running a '79 with a GSL-SE underneath, so my current ration is 4.10 would it be benifical to run a 3.9 now that it has a 13B with efi, and has plenty of power. Top end it actually has the power to red line 5th gear! Now when I race it spins so hard through first and a bit in second that I feel like I'm losing valuable time in the quarter.

I'm not familar with the subject but look forward to any suggestions; I'm willing to try anything.

Hey, me again.

If you can redline high gear then it is undergeared, but since you're a 1320'r I would think you'd want it this way. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find traction.

He means your a 1/4 mile guy.A 3:90 would be beneficial for both gas mileage and 1/4mil times tho. With a taler gear ratio it gives you more time to run each gear therefore it makes each shifter a little longer and keeping the car in the power range for a little more each shift.IT really depends on your preference.

If you look at my sig. what part of it makes you think I'm a 1/4 mile guy??? The car is set up for autocross, and roadrace, It just happens to be fast through a 1/4 as well, but if I read my own post I see how you think that... So would you try a 3.90 or leave it a 4.10?

i like 4.10 gears. i had them in all of my rx7's to date. i don't think it is worth changing the gears

actually what year gsl-se did you pull the rear end out of? the later 84's and 85's had the 3.90 gears. the stock gears are basically the best compromise, i would keep em
