My oil pan sump is sitting between the X member and the stabilisor bar. Does anyone know if the oilpan will fit on the engine backwards? I know that I will have to modify the oil pickup tube.

By doing this I can shift the engine rearward and level it out a bit.

Well I looked at a gasket last night and it looks like it will not. So what I am going to do is cut the bottom of the oil pan off and have a buddy weld it on backwards. Last night I worked on the motor mount but the cold chased me out of the garage. lol. I'll get it cut today.

Thanks for the response.

BTW my fuel system came in. It is the full kit from summit. Pump, filter, braided lines and fittings. I am also usint their tank kit AN-8 and AN-6 no return for now. I just have to get the 1/2" NPT bung welden to the tank.Once I go fuel injection then I will plumb in the return line.

Update. I cut the radiator mount. I have 12 inches from the fromt of the water pump pulley to the grille. I am done cutting all of the mounts. A buddy is bringing his pro welding truck by on thursday and we will weld the mounts in place. On second thought I am going to leave the engine and tranny exactly where they are. The tranny mount lines up perfect with the stock position. After performing the shifter relocation mod the shifter lines up perfect with the stock location. Thanks for teaching me that mod Judge Ito.

Tonight I am getting started on the fuel system. I am still tossing the idea around of weather I want to mount the pump and filter in the trunk or under the car. Suggestions->comments->pros and cons... discuss please. Just remember street car.

Well, yesterday I got the fuel pump and filter mounted in the trunk. I also bolted down the battery box in there. The welded fuel tank is complete and installed.

I also tossed around some ideas on where to mount the MSDs and second gen leading coils. I will get some pictures and post them up later.

Looks like you're gonna have a cool little sleeper when you're done. When I lived over there, the old Kadetts would always catch my eye.

I can't imagine the looks you must get from the Germans running modded rotary stuff over there! Good luck with the rest of the project!

Engine and transmission mounts are welded up. I'll drop the engine and tranny in tomorrow and start building the exhaust system.
