smoking badly at idle
Hey new to this site and looks great. Im working on my brother in laws series 6 rx7 circuit car it has a lot of fruit and running around 400hp, it runs a big single turbo, dog box and microtech injection, the car has been smoking really badly at idle lately but is not lacking any power and hasnt missed a beat, the front exhaust port is a lot darker than the light brown of the rear port. internals of the engine are fairly worked and is running good qaulity race apex seals, I started pulling the engine out today with the thought of damaged oil control rings, But i have found there is a fair bit of milky oil substance covering the inlet ports, looks like a oily fuely substance. I was wondering if any one has experienced these problems before before we rip the motor down again.
Im fairly new to rotaries but have learnt alot after rebuilding my series 1 rx7 race car motor and im a marine tech by trade but im stumped.
Any help would be great.

Sounds like it could be the turbo smoking. By any chance, is it a greddy turbo? I would think if it was the oil control ring it would smoke all the time and not just at idle.
My car is doing the exact same thing and it is the turbo.

We have just gone back to the smaller garret turbo because the car was undriveable with the big turbo around the circiut, so it has done the same thing with both turbos and this one was checked before it was put on, how well who knows. I was told the stuff in the inlet could be condensation but there was a bit to much and it felt real oily, the only other thing i can think of is the surge foam in the tank has been soaking up the oil in the premix and slowly mixing in with the new premix as the cars can sit for 4 weeks between races.
