Hello all again. I have been looking through mazdaspeeds parts and I have access to 20B housings and plates. Would a rear 20b plate mount up to my t2 transmission and would using 20b housings and plates be any advantage to fd housings and s5 plates?

Thanks.

I am doing something similar on my set up. I recently broke the rear plate on my T2 S4. I am going to run 13b-re (cosmo) plates front and rear. The intermediate will be T2. I am using the RE upper and lower intake.

A 20b plate will bolt to your transmission (though I cant say for certain how the manifold will work). The 20b plates have very large ports, so there is an advantage. Dont go with the 20b rotor housings though, their port sleeve is much more of a restriction than a FC or FD housing.

hmmm ok so since the ports are sooo much larger then the FC I am pretty sure I would have to make a custom manifold. That is ok with me, I am learning how to weld as we speak.

Ok so as long as the 20b plates are as strong as the s5 I see no reason not to go 20B plates, but still FD housings, Custom intake (that might allow me to run FD twins), and 8.5 rotors. Unless the 20B had some lower compression rotors?

Any other ideas guys?

Again thanks for any/everything.

Ditch the twins. They suck. Go single. But If you want a set I have 3. I can show you a FC,FD and Cosmo plate side by side as i have all 3.

You dont' have to custom make an intake manifold. If you are learning to weld it will take you forever to build one that doesn't leak. It's not like watching american chopper. Just order a RE lower and upper intake. They flow better than any other stock intake.

Just my .02.

dont use 20b rota housings they have **** exhaust ports, find some fd housings as for the plates 20b cosmo and 13b cosmo plates are the same(with the exception of the thick centre plate) and yes ya s5 trans will bolt up to the back of it

The RE lower intake manifold will mount right up to 20B plates?

Yes I would like to see a picture side by side by side please.

Thank you.

the 20b stuff wont work as a 2 rotor, its got the bigger tension bolts, and the front iron has the bolts going the wrong way.

the 20b* and 13b cosmo engines use the fd intake bolt pattern, so the cosmo or fd intakes interchange.

*20b is like 1.5 intake manifolds
