I found a good 13b from an '86 and I want to swap it for my shot 12a. What I want to do is strip it down to the bare essentials. I was also want to put the nikki carb from my 12a on the new engine. I was wondering if I could just get an intake manifold from an old carbed 13b and bolt it up. I also know the front rotor housing cover and oil pan won't fit with my chassis, so will these parts from my 12a work? Or will I need those from a 84-85 gsl-se?

You'll need the GSL-SE cover and pan to toss it in there.

Maybe the 12A front cover will work, I'm not sure on that one though.

The oldschool carbed 13B manifolds won't bolt on to the EFI 13B irons. The bolt pattern is different. Also the S4 N/A motors are all 6 port, so the old 13B carb manifold won't have matching ports either.

12a front cover works, you do need a 13b oil pan. the intake needs to be from an 84-92 13b non turbo, you can reuse the stock 13b exhaust manifold if you want, or get a header
