I have looked through a bunch of build threads and found a little info on this swap, but it isn't very complete. I just bought a S5 engine for my '86 GXL. I need to take it apart and replace a few parts, but I want to make sure I have everything that I need when I go to put the engine in my car.

I already know that I need to use the S4 front cover and the S5 temperature sensor. What about intake manifolds? Anything else I need to watch out for?

It seems most people upgrade to a turbo engine. I just want a N/A for a fun daily driver. Any help on things to watch out for and parts I need to be sure to have on would be helpful, especially if there is a thread that shows people that have done this in the past.

best way is to keep the s5 intakes and use the s4 electrics...

the reason you dont see a lot of info is because you can do a lot of mixing and matching

Yup, S5 intake, but you gotta run the air pump then. Use s4 ecu and harness. You should be good to go.
