so...in the 13b-msp world. the 6 ports make more power than the 4 ports.

why is this?

i could not find pictures of both plates to compare the ports. anyone have some?

im picking up a renesis this week. should be a nice little project.

The 4 port was mostly for automatic trans cars. Manual shift got the 6 port. Typical intake port closing point was 40 degrees ABDC. With the 6 port the end irons got a 6th port that had a closing point of 70 drgrees ABDC.

The late closing ports were opened and closed by a rotating tube. So for most driving the 6th port was not used, and the car was a nice driver. If you wanted to show off, the vacuum operted 6th ports would open at high RPM and act like a (timing wise) "J" bridge port that closes at 72 ABDC.

So, intake closing point like a "J" bridge port. That has to be good.

do you have a picture of the plate faces?

is the 6 port seperated opening like the older 13b's on the faces? or do the openings merge into one before entering the face? a picture would answer this for me.

i could even port the 4 port to the same ABDC. or stay within the limits of it. this might make more power then the standard 6 port renesis. keeping the air in one runner possibly creating more velocity.

also, i have photos of the 4 port im picking up. it looks like the 6 port holes are there, but closed off. i could possibly just open them up. i eill not know for sure until i get it in my garage and open it up.

i really need to get that motor to my house already, i could probley answer these myself then...

the 4 port looks like the 6 port, except without the other 2 ports.

so basically, is like they took the 6 port and just closed off the top port?

didnt even change the bottom one at all?

this is a picture of a ported renesis secondary plate... where i colored would resemble the 4 port in the second pic?
