Thumbs up

Hey all sorry if this might sound like a newbe post please bare with me. 1'st off i have a 93 R1 RX-7 with a 13-REW engine. Now if my engine were to blow how much would it cost to rebuild? But really what i want to know is could i do it my self or with some help from some local RX-7 Gurus. Also if the engine blows does that just mean replacing the Apex seals or could i have to have new rotors put in as well. Thanks for your time.

Do a searchhhhhhhh buddy I always wanted to do that to a rookie. If your looking to rebuild your engine I would suggest trying to do it your self is a no-no. Only because you have an FD and making a mistake would have you pulling your hair if you had to pull the engine out more then 2 times. Cost to rebuild could be anywhere from 3000.oo to 4500.oo depending on what parts your going to need, when you tear it apart. Rebuilding an engine is not that hard but it does take some time to learn the how too's....

Oooooh, you're in Pittsburgh, not to steal business from Ito, but call Sevenspeed!!!

George and Mike are awesome. I'm in Pittsburgh also btw.

Ask for either George, or Mike. They're the two owners. Tell them Ben Martin sent you

www.sevenspeed.com

They're in washington PA, it's on the way to wheeling (down 79, then onto 70). There are directions on their site. You should stop by, they'd be happy to talk stuff over with you if you have any questions.

Node I honestly don't come to the forums to look for work. I try to shy away from it.(I have more work then I could handle) If you notice I don't ever advertise my shop on my SIG. I need to catch up with backed up work and sell my building and move to a bigger place..
