The engine is apart....

see the other forum for some pics ....everything is A1 except the size of the seals and the rotor grooves..

That vintage thread was interesting till it turned into an Atkins love fest, but they have done pretty good for themselves as well, so I can't really knock 'em...

I would like to help RA figure out what happened, the more parts places there are from us to buy from, the better it is for us all I figure....

If you have these seals, I would recommend a compression test when the car is hot....

I remember when I bought these seals, the were not listed as their own, their website changed to advertise they were making their own seals about a week after I got my kit, so I think my seals, might have been some of the very very very first bunch.......

Anyway, motor is goiing back together with Mazda oem'ers for now with new rotors that should be here in a week from Japan.... Maxt

i wonder if they were just getting too hot? did you have em on new rotor housings?

This is some very interesting reading. I've taken the time to read all posts here and at the evil forum. IMHO I believe Max just got a bad batch of seals. I think I will still use these seals in my new motor and I believe that they will hold up very well to the abuse I will give them with the proper tuning. I will obviously measure the seals, rotor grove and clearances before use just to have that warm fuzzy feeling.
