For comparison I did the same with a test with a mazda seal and it was consistent its entire length...

I need to get the motor apart, and measure the seals that are in there though....

Tracy cook, responded in the thread on rx7forums, which was pretty good of him, in the past they have done everything I have asked of them, and gave me pretty good service, so don't doubt their products on the whole, I respect they are trying to innovate, and make things better for us, so I am not mad about the problem I have, I posted my findings, just to see if anyone else has had the same symptons as me...I am dissapointed I have to pull a motor that ran so strong for 10,000 km's, but **** happens......Maxt

Data:

I've got 4500 miles on an NA SP built with RA seals which had engraved match numbers. All were given .002in clearance to the rotor groove upon assembly. I haven't compression tested it because it starts very easily - easier hot than cold actually. This engone only makes ~160 rwhp and sees a maximum of 7250 rpm. It has been fed 87 octane and 200:1+ TCW-3 premix since first start-up.

I was unaware that someone else had a problem, with them, whos p-port was that and what did the seals look like? I took this motor up to 19psi a couple of times, its a/f's were always in the 10.5:1-10.8:1 range over 10 psi of boost..I am starting to wonder if the seals are just warping when they are hot...Max

my opinion stated before was based on the info given in the club thread. i'm sorry if i offended you but to try to diagnois what the problem was not knowning how you make your living, i don't think it would be a huge leap to think that the rebuild/porting quality was a bit questionable. either way get that engine apart and figure out what the hell is going on.
