Pros And Cons Of S4/s5 Hybrid Motor?
im getting ready to build a motor here soon and im going n/a but staying away from pp for now. i was thinkin of doing an s4/s5 hybrid setup and was just wondering the pros and cons of doing so?? im going to be using t2 rotor housing with n/a intermediate housings and an set of s5 rotors and stationary gears. for the lighter and higher compressioned rotors. for now ill be using port matched s5 n/a intake manifolds. with an s4 lower intake manifold and wired open 5th and 6th ports. this will be my first attempt at bulding a motor so please dont flame me too hard. all advice and suggestions on the matter will be very much appreciated. and the car that im putting the motor in is an 88 GTU.
Just a couple of notes that may or may not help
I personally would get the 6th ports working, its really easy to do and it makes for a better power curv when they do work. If the car is wide open throttle all the time then I would not even put them in.
If you have some good NA rotor housings you could always cut out the diffuser or remove the whole insert and swap it for a TII one. Lots of us Tubo owners remove those sleeves altoguther so I would assume they would sell them to ya cheap.
