The rotor housings are aluminum. I usually use mineral spirits to clean them, but I used purple power this last time. I don't soak the housings, though, just wash them.

Castrol parts wash fluid. Scrub 'em down and dry them off. Good to go.

Castrol has aluminum etching chemicals.......

For very fast and very clean and very dry use M.E.K. from Lowes.(paints)

No sparks and keep you face away when you 1st open it.....like sniffing Locker room (poppets). This will blow away any degreaser and not harm your stuff. No Smoking!

For what it's worth.........I retrofitted my partswasher to use a product called Nuphree. It has no issues with any metal, and when filtered, will last forever. The chemistry is such that nothing attaches to it. Currently, it is being used in the printing industry to clean presses and in manufacture of oem metal parts. It is amazing how well it works.

NuPhree has not been taken to the market under that name as yet. A friend who has the rights to distribute and market to the private sector hasn't taken it there yet because he is scrambling to keep up with his other business. I have been encouraging him to get it there as soon as possible because of the properties of it.

NuPh - neutral PH Hope that helps shed some light on it.
