That's only true at full throttle. At any other throttle level they are a disadvantage compared to butterfly systems. When you consider that a race car is at full throttle most of the time, it makes alot of sense to use them.

couldnt u just make the butterfly throttle bodies a little bigger to compensate for the obstruction, or is that running into problems in terms of technical rules for the race series?
