Motor Is Going In This Weekend

Any good tips to make everything go smooth? I haven't done a FD motor before, but I work on Mercedes all day. Theres always little tips and tricks to make certain jobs easier



Flywheel is getting resurfaced tomorrow. What should the 54mm nut be torqued to?



Should I re-torque the tension bolts? How much torque?



I think I have the whole clutch release thing down. Pulling motor w/out trans. Leaving DP on motor.



Anything else?

I think teh torque is close to 300 ft/lb. So you need one of those 5 foot torque wrenches they use on diesels. I just use an impact gun. Never had a problem yet

I would'nt worry about the tension bolts

Tork specs are importanted, look in the fsm. I know fc stuff, but not fd sorry..

Yeah I was just gonna do it with an impact anyway. Give it about 6 rat-tats and it should be good

I left my FSM cd at home. I was hoping someone would know. Wheres our Japanese buddies at?

it's over 300 lbs-ft iirc, i just use a 2 foot pipe over the rachet and hang off the end. i'm around 200 lbs.

An impact gun should work just fine for the nut, i think its actually 350 ft #s..
