Looking to replace the TMIC with a FM and all I find are 2.5 and large inlet and outlets.

option #1

Use a 2 - 2.5" reducer at my turbo and my intake and plumb for the 2.5" Intercooler.

option #2

Use 2" pipe and reducers at the intercoolers ends.

option #3

???

Note:

I don't have a lot of room for the Intercooler. I think I can squeeze a 27 x 12 x 3 Intercooler in front of my radiator. Which is about the biggest I could fit (This intercooler has a 20 x 12 core) which should be much better than my top mounted unit.

water to air is an option!

for an air to air, pipe size isnt a huge deal, unless it bends a lot, then you want to make it bigger.

also a lot of the kits will run a smaller pipe on the hot side (from the turbo to the ic) and a bigger pipe from the ic to the engine.
