I Finally Did It!

I got my photos developed and put them out on Image Station (free image hosting by Sony!)
Rebuild Photos
Motor Swap Photos
Still no more progress on the car. I cleaned up the garage today but did not try to start it because my wife was trying to sleep. I should have all weekend to work on it.

I suppose this will be the last update on this thread.
Today I did a cold compression test. Around 6.5 on each chamber on the rear rotor and around 7.5 on each chamber on the front rotor. I don't guess that is bad for a fresh rebuild with only about 30 minutes idle time with used rotor housings. I am sure it will only go up with some age and would be much better when warm.
I then tried to diagnose my idle problem. I started it up and sprayed some eather around the intake manifold. When I sprayed in the area where the lower intake meets the middle intake the idle would smooth out and the revs would go up.
I pulled the upper and middle intake manifold off. I noticed the rear side housing was shaped different around the inspection plate. Apparently the rear housing I used was off a different year model that had more material on it. My middle intake manifold was sitting on this extra metal and it was not allowing it to seat properly on the lower intake. About 20 minutes with my die grinder and I had it taken down to match the rear housing on the original motor. Another 2 hours of cleanup and re-assembly and it runs!! It is not perfect but it will hold a decent 1100 RPM idle and it does not miss as bad as it did before.
I took it for a drive. After about one mile the check engine light came on but other than that I had no problems. About 4 miles on the motor now. I hope the check engine light is something as simple as the o2 sensor. But I will have to check that tomorrow.
It was bucking pretty bad at low RPM. I have a feeling it is just a bad TPS and timing adjustment. I will play with that tomorrow too.
