I Finally Did It!
#16
Today sucked even worse than yesterday. It took me and my wife two hours and a gallon of simple green to get the engine bay almost clean. I even removed the hood and the hood padding to clean the layer of goop from it.
Then I started swapping parts over from the old motor to the new one. I got the oil pan, a/c & p/s bracket, exhaust manifold, both motor mounts, CAS, oil filter pedistal and flywheel moved over. I also removed the radiator from my parts car because it is in much better condition than the original one to this car. That does not sound like much for a days work but everything that came off the old motor spent some time in my parts washer.
Because I have decided to take more time than planned I will probably get a new clutch for the car and have the injectors cleaned this week. I guess my next goal is to finish next weekend.

Hey KorovaKharne,
Good to hear you've made some serious progress. I'll be going to Lewis's tonight to work on my engine. I'll tell him about your progress. I'll be working on my engine tonight. Just cleaning and lapping the plates or atleast starting on it. Porting comes next week. Nothing serious, just gonna smooth the transition where the sleeve use to be and clean up the remaining ports.
Anyway, call me if you need any help this coming weekend. If I can get away from the wife I'll be glad to drive down and help. We can video the virgin starting of your car.
