I was thinking of adding 2 small PPs on the rotor housing. Not as big as the normal pp, they'll just big enough to stay within the open timing of the side (street port) intake. That way, the over lap won't be anymore than a normally street ported engine, and way less than a conventional pp intake. Why wouldn't this work?

if the pp opens and closes at the same time as the side intake, how can it have more overlap with the exhaust port?

when the apex seal passes over a peripheral port, the seal doesnt cover the port entirely at any time, that is why you will have more overlap... on the side ports, the sides of the rotor passes over the ports with far more coverage than the apex seal will have over the peripheral port.
