I would like to know the difference in loudness, lets say long primaries collected right before the axle into a muffler.

it depends.... the bridge will make a lot more noise out of the intake

it is possible to make a bridge "quiet", or more like not loud

it's a LOT louder... hard to decribe i suppose... maybe similar to the difference between a muffled exhaust and open straight pipes.

It's VERY loud.

I can't tell the difference between ports given the same exhaust system.

That is the trick right there.

I'd have to agree more with j9fd3s. While both porting styles can produce a nice brapping effect, only the bridgey sounds uniquely bridgeported, and it is heard mainly through the intake.
