Actually, here is the update:

I never resolved the smoking issue associated with the turbos mentioned and shown within the thread so I took a chance on another "low mileage" set. Turbo city guys said there is nothing they can do when the shafts get worn... new seals don't help at all. The smoking went away immediately for aprox 2k miles with the newer set of turbos but it now it appears the turbos are pushing a bit of oil out at start up. Runs nice and clean once you take it down the block but still very annoying for how much money I have tied up into this motor/car. I haven't driven the car more than 100 miles over the last few months.

So happy to report the smoke was definitely was the turbos but not so happy about having this come back on me twice. Debated about going to a single and leaving my issues with two bad sets of twins behind me but am now having thoughts about selling.

Thanks for the help provided along the way.

Chris

Chris, I spotted a red 3rd gen the other day. Owner is the original since 93 and lives in your neighborhood. First time I have ever seen the car, do you know this guy? Good luck whichever way you go and have a great holiday. Bring the wife and kids and stop by in the spring for a beer if it goes that long till we cross paths again.

Take it easy

-Dave
