removed cat, now car smokes

Cut out my highflow cat, now my car smokes for 2-4 min after start up. smells rich, smoke is white in color and stops once the car is warm.



2 questions



1. is this normal?



2. why is this happening?

that is normal. the cat will get rid of alot of crap out of the exhaust

In my experience, cats will remove an amazing amount of stuff from exhaust. Even an engine that's burning a quart of oil every 250 miles won't smoke if it has a healthy cat on it.

when i first started the car i figured all the smoke was the quart of atf i put inside the engine. well i drove the car to ito's shop which is like 10mins away. temp is ok then boom hits the top of the guage the last line. then POP EGI FUSE. i swap in the AC fuse. get approx 1 mile from ito's then POP goes the fuse steal another fuse. get it to ito's check it out. look at the radiator hmmm NO COOLANT! ito hooked up a few vacuum lines i did wrong. i'm so pissed i have zero luck. filled up the water. on the way home temp gauge pegged after a few minutes and **** LOADS of smoke. coolant seal is dead this is the exact same crap my FD did when i bought it. i'm sooo happy right now

Yeah, that sounds alot like bad coolant seals. I STILL have to get the parts together for a new motor. I think I'm going to use new rotor housings.

the ONLY good about this jspec is the compression. it pulls like a bat out of hell but also smokes like a bat out of hell
