Thumbs up

So as i keep looking into the porting of my engine i really want a half bridge port. The thing is i know that they are hard as **** to tune, the run like ****, but you get the nice little "brap brap brap" at idle.

Im thinking to just go with the "street" port and call it a day and have my engine ready and in my car.

I cant find any proof that the halfbridge gives you any more torque than any other port or any **** like that. But i just thought a half bridge woul;d bve fun to have. I jsut want my can car to be streetable and yet fast. what do you guys think.... bridge or street?

i voted street, cuz for some reason, you only wanted to do a half bridge... just do a full bridge... you have the motor apart, and if you don't do it, like i didn't... you'll always wish you had.

Look up bdc. He has posted videos and all sorts of stuff that "proves" to me that they do give more torque and are just as streetable as a street port. Although this is only my opinion but i reallly dont think there bad at all.

I would have said they are a peice of **** to tune, they run fine what are you talking about?, but I do agree with the nice sound of the brap brap brap and this is just my oppinion go full bridge why waste ur time and money doing anything else you obviously like the sound and everyone knows bridgeporting doesn't really reduce engine life anyou know what I think about your "hard to tune" and "run like ****" comments, ok heres the basis of my oppinion, I have a 323/GLC with a 12A Full Bridge port, 10 pound flywheel, running electronic ignition and a fully worked nikki carb, I drive it every day and tuning it was easy lock the dizzy and advance 20 ish degrees or full advance setup jet sizes based on road testing with a sensor in the exaust pipe, got it running stoich and thats it never had a problem since. And an added bonus the dirty looks you get from people in you noisy car, also yes you do sacrifice low down torque but who wants torque there anyway you get it all back after 5000-6000 rpm. Full bridge!Full bridge!Full Bridge!

Also to have a half bridge and a brap brap at idle would mean you were bridge porting the primarys that doesn't make sense to me for performance and drivabilty you would street port the primarys and bridge the secondarys, so yeah if you bridge the primarys definetly bridge the secondarys.

I have a half bridge port engine. Bridge on secondaries only, and it has the lopey idle. So far I've had no problems tuning, though manifold pressure is usually jumping between two adjacent bands on haltech.

As expected, my engine doesn't have much torque under 3000, and fuel economy is terrible(still trying to optimize tune). But that's not a big deal to me. The top end more than makes up for it.

BDC is a guy on this board and others. That is his user name or whatever. Look up some of his posts and try to find his website through his name on here.

Ohk i felt sorry for you and spent 3 minutes searching. Here is the thread i was talking about. I couldnt find it on this forum so i went to another.

http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=350939

Most of what he does is half bridgeports. If you got any questions just ask him, he'll be more than happy to answer your questions.
