I'm having a hard time getting a 12a engine to start when hot, it starts just perfectly when cold, it has a mild SP and a weber, everthing even timing checks ok.

The only thing I notice weird is a constant compression of about 90psi when cold and hot...it doesn't drop or get better than that, is there a stuck corner seal or maybe the clearances on the side seals (which were reused) are off.

Has anybody with an old engine had this problem? It's not blown and the apex seals are new.

The engine did go thru about 20 drag passes and it overheated the last time, the temp needle reached half way before shutting her down because of a bad E. Fan...

Could it be a warped housing? or a combination of stuck corner seals, bad side seals and warped housings? is there a way of checking this without pulling the engine apart and clearancing everything again?

please help...

thx guys

***update***

It was a spun rear rotor bearing ...e-shaft is gone but everything else is ok. I drove it like that for a while even did a slow slow pass of 16.2 with the engine turning off...

lol!!
