Ive got an 82 gsl that ive had for about 3 years. It always ran real strong, and I used and abused it, but never had a problem. A month ago i jumped in and started it up, it ran fine, but after about 30 seconds it started running like it fouled a plug. i didnt think much about it then but just jumped in my other car. The next day i pulled the plugs and they were perfect. Then i checked for spark, everything looked good. Next i started checking for vacuum leaks, but couldn't find any. Checked out my fuel pump and fuel filters. nothing wrong. I never went through my carb, so i thought cool this will get it. Gave it to my dad, he rebuilt it, and he's done a couple already. problem is still there. Now i have no clue, i guess the motor is shot? The car is pretty stock, but i put an msd 6a and 3 blaster coils on. also i eliminated the cat. Any help would be great. I'm having some serious withdrawals here, I gotta drive my car.

not to sound like a total idiot, but don't you need a special compression gauge for that? I can get a regular one.

If the compression is that low than you can just put your hond over the hole and it won't blow it away then you know your problem. Otherwise you'll need a gauge to check actual pressure.
