i thought the renisis's power came from the way it was set up with the intake, opening one set of valve inthe manifold then opening the 5th and 6th port . will you have the same power band if that step system is not there?

probably a bit less down low.. I'll be running a holley so both secondary port will be "closed" until the carb second trap opens..

We'll be putting this in a first gen or rx3 body so down low torque isn't the much needed as with the fat *** rx8..

Little update..

Waterpump and alternator installed.. notice the piece of metal to support the 4th waterpump bolt dat didn't matched the renesis front housing...

7mm was milled of the water pump and a 7mm steel plate was made and tapped for the 4th missing stud..

New alternater was installed.. I need to order the correct belts, but you get the Idea..

Now it wating time for the intake to arrive and to make an adapter.. that will be the hard part..

If your gonna run a Holley vac secondary carb, there wont be steady enough vac signal to operate it properly on a 6 port with independent runners. Maybe if you completely close the Aux ports. But thats retarded.

It's a Racing beat holley setup for a 2nd gen 6 port engine.. Does that change the situation? probaly not :/

How can this be solved?

If you have hood clearance, add a 1" spacer to make a plenum under the carb. Merge the 4 runners to eliminate the plateu with sanding drums to make it flow friendly. If clearance is an issue, cut reliefs into the manifold itself.

The goal is to give the pressure pulse generated by the late closing (closing, as in port timing wise, not mechanical sleeve closing) aux ports a place to go. Or it will go back out through the carb, and thats bad for drivability and tunning.

If it were a race car, you could use mechanical secondary carb and not care about low rpm bogging.

We will see how it goes..

I tought it woulds work because it works on a 6-port and a renesis is in fact a 6-port engine..
