Very nice engine done by Mistral I mailed them a few timis because I wanted to run my project sage there as I'm studying aeronautics.. but email communication was badly :/:/:/

o it doesn't hurt to have 22° advance at 2500rpm?

OOPS.

I was thinking three rotor. Duh.

This picture is of a crank trigger for any two rotor. One reluctor and two pickups 180 degrees apart.

Not flying.. aircraft engineering.. so it would have been perfect if I could have do my stage at mistral in Geneve..

Now I have found a place in the technical university in Brno Czech..

Interesting way of making the pickup.. I just took a look on the renesis pully.. it's like 13 teeth, then 2 of 3 missing then 1 teeth again 2-3 missing and then 13theeth again..

So it has 3 times 13teeth and total 6 flat areas with everytime 1 teeth between the 2 flat areas..

Rew timing ring doesn't fit.. as the place where normally the 2 pickup are is now taken by the oil runner wich pressure feeds the metring pump..

In my crank trigger system, the reluctor is just a piece of a nail pounded through a hole in an aluminum disc.

A degree wheel is riveted to the disc for easy timing. The reluctor is in front of the centerline of the pickup when you want that housing to fire. So you have a pickup for the front housing and one for the rear.

Brackets must be built to support the pickups. Bosch makes a nice one. As well as 80s Chryslers with electronic distributors, and MSD makes them as well.

So the disc has just one reluctor and two pickups. Cheap. Easy and accurate.

Picture is the back side of the aluminum disc (painted orange) and shows the piece of nail reluctor exposed along the edge. It is bolted to an early cast iron pulley from an RX-2 or RX-3.

Just pulled the front cover..

The renesis has an timing gear on it, the only problem is it turs in the other direction..

Now I'll be putting on a 12a front cover and gear..

But the oil pan doesn't align so I'll be looking for an old NA 13b oil pan to overcome this.. Now I'm going to find if its useful the shim the oil press relief valve..

I'll post pics soon..

What should I do with the water pump? As the renesis one is in one piece with the front cover.. I could also cut the lower part of the front cover and use the renesis one..? Or just put a 12a pump on it..

Here are the pics..

What to do with the oil passage? Just slap it on? Use some permatex like compound between the cover and housing? Please some input on this..!

Oil pan + 12A front cover installed, now I can run a dizzy so everyone is happy

Next is the intake system.. I should need some port inserts voor the upper secondary ports as I don't have the rx8 intake with it.. I've seen pineaplle racing sells the inserts but these are only the curved Al blocks to insert in the port.. I should need the whole rotating tube, or make them somehow..

The oil pan is made out of 2 old 12a pans..

Here are some pics of the oil pan and suction tube wich was needed to be turned 90° for oil pan clearance due the thicker front iron housing..

So the Renesis is physically longer than a 13B when you use a 12A front cover. That's interesting.
