a buddy of mine had a full bp rx3 (na) and here are the differences vs a stock port.

pros:

more torque from 2000-11,000rpm

sounds neat

25+ mpg on the freeway

cons:

does not do part throttle under 5000rpm

when you cut the water jacket engine life goes way down (12-18months, before it starts sucking water)

the car was NOT loud, it was using 2 loooong glas packs and 2 turbo mufflers, it was very reasonable
The part throttle drivability, and power below 5k would have been much better with a free-flowing exhaust. But those are *loud*

Even properly tuned with a stand alone EMS a BP motor won't do partial throttle below 5K? What happens when you try? Do they try to stall out?

Sorry, never driven a BP car before, just courious.

Thanks,

Ours do. The half-BP combinations I've been doing lately seem to drive well from about ~2krpm and above... around that neighbourhood and below, it will stutter and bounce around a bit.
