Timing becomes most crucial when upping the compression...can this be equivalent to tuning for more boost, or is this completely different?

Sorry...n00b trying to learn somewhere.

na, you got the idea. i wish i were more help right now, but the engine isn't together, so i don't know how much timing to run yet. i plan on having it all running by mid-late june though.

I think this is the wrong thread for this comment, but I think there are better ways of getting low end response and power. You can use a smaller (.84) a/r turbine housing and increasing the timing at negative, zero, boost levels.

but imagine increased timing at vaccuum w/ high compression

but yea, a 60-1 even on stock ports spools damn good. i guess i just like to over complicate things

I ran 9.4 rotor with a T3 turbo for 18months. Everyone thought the car was on laughing gas it was so responsive. Ran 19-21 psi with the 60-1 .86 stge III wheel.

The motor was a 86 na 6 port with turboII port matched LIM. One weekend during a Nopi event the car ran four 11.8 and one 11.6 at 120-123mph. 2720lb with me. 16psi in first, 17 psi in second and 3rd and 4th gear was 20psi. Then went to a T4 turbo, 96a/r p-trim with 8.5 rotor and a small bridge. Two completly differant motors. For intown use the 9.4 rotors with the T3 turbo would kill my second set up. but if we got out on the open road the 8.5 rotor and T4 turbo would easly walk away, above 120mph. Ran both set ups at 20psi. best time with second set up was 11.4 at 127mph, (85% tuned) you can see the mph differance.

I know the turbo has something to do with how the motor pulled, the rotors has to have something to do with it also.

I did crack two rear s4 plates trying the na rotor and T3 turbo. They cacked because of my stupid mistakes. Not from anything else. When I return to San Antonio I will go back to 9.4 rotors. With S5 turbo motors, the ones with bigger casting around the dowel pin areas.
