I'm using the probe to measure up all holes in the front-cover

Now the shaft is out of the owen. Have been there since friday 15:00, and are still 200 celcius now 46hours later.

The Heidenhain touch-probe is linked to the machine-software. Then I can choose to read the value on the screen, use it in a zero-point-tranfer, or print it to a *.txt on the computer that is connected by the network.

Bad is, that what I know, I can only print one X,Y,Z-value on each *.txt. Havn't read more about it.

I remember from my CAD classes in high school that a 5 axis mill with a prob could be used to reverse engineer a part and write the full code for it, but unfortunately it was just mentioned in the class and we didn't go that in depth. We did write our own codes for our names and for chess pieces we made on the lathe. Fun class, wish I'd have done more classes for CNC work

I honestly don't know what I would do with access to all of that equip. The list is so long it boggles my mind. I'm probably kidding myself, I would spend the first month not sleeping even for an hour and die from exhaustion and never make half the stuff I wanted to, but damn it would be a fun month.

Hehe, I've worked here for 8years, and have always done small things by night. But this project is big, and the time can't be measured.

But mostly I have fun

The only thing I hate, is when I don't know exactly how to go futher with the shaft for example...

The budget it very low at the moment. The shaft has only cost me 490 dollars this far
