I hope someone on here has done this. I have an FD3s and I sold the block a long time ago and I am considering purchasing a 13b RE cosmo engine block only and putting all my FD parts and sensors on. Including the harness and injectors... Is this do-able? are the engine mounting holses the same in the block for an RE?

Regards,

Dana

Get ready to get flamed. But not by me. Yes anything is possible and it can be done but you are going to have to fabricate different mounts the FD and RE I believe the mounts are different. Do a search there are plenty of arguments you will find on doing such a swap. The RE is kind of a strange motor in that it has similar parts from a S4/S5 fc3s motor and has similar parts from a S6 fd3s. Good luck.

the easy way is to use your back iron from the rew motor and match the runner. other than that, you'll have to get custom mounts made.

Yea the 13b-Re are really cheap on ebay... around $1300-1500.

Putting it In will cost you a stand alone ecu(850-1800) , fabing up mounts(0-$500) and (250-750) in other parts like flywheels & such.

I think this is a better mod for a person with a first or second gen car.

if you need rebuild on a budget go here AZ Rebuilder

I saw them on google... they have low prices.
