putting rebuilt 13b back into automatic fd3s series 8

Hi All,
I have started putting my motor back into my series 8 which is an auto. I am having dramas getting the drive plate to line up with the torque converter so i pulled the motor forward about 40mm and the torque conver has come forward with it. It seems as though the torque converter has binded in the end of the eccentric shaft. Does anyone have any info on how to fix this? im hanging to get this thing back on the road.
