Default Mazda Re-manufactured Engines

Its been years since I've been on here. In 2008 I parked my 90 TII in my father's garage and left for what turned out to be multiple overseas tours. I pulled the car out last year and brought it to my new house in Massachusetts and left it set because my 1989 Skyline GTR was more important. I got a wild idea to try to start the 7 for the first time in a decade +. With a little coaxing it fired up and moved under its own power. I plan on getting it back into its former glory, but I've never been very happy with the motor. The current motor was built by Gotham Racing back in 2004. The oil has always been washed down with fuel and I'm sure this in combination with sitting for over a decade has taken its tool. Back then it was common practice for engine builders to get a reman motor from Mazda, open it for internal upgrade (ie porting, better apex seals, coolant/oil passage mod, etc). Is this still common practice or did Mazda stop re-manufacturing the 13 B motors? If this isn't common practice then what are engine builders doing now? TIA
