I have some housings, they are supposed to be both S5... its going into a turbo engine. One of them came from a TII engine, and the other one is from an NA engine with the defusser changed to a TII one. I was wondering why the buttom of them is different. One is smooth and the other is blocky.

I think there would be a problem with the water seals, because of the different location on the 12a.

What year 12a are you referring to? Off course there would be some modification, I got this info from somebody that sells components to 7 second Rotaries ...so don't shoot the messenger!

the primary ports are tall because theres no injector there.

you can use the 12a irons with the 84-85 gslse 13b housings to make a 4 port 13b.

Not at all impossible. The 12A center iron may have better looking ports than many 13B irons, so maybe 13B front and rear irons with bigger ports than the 12A ends, with a 12A center?



In any case there will be no intake manifold that fits the stud pattern and covers the center ports.



But if you have a TIG welder and a bunch of filler rod, you can build up material where you need to in order to manufacture a manifold. Fill in stud holes where there is no stud and moving them and so on.



A giant pain in the ***, but you will enjoy the outcome.

im going to be using a 12a tallport center plate in my s/5 engine. iv got a enginer machining the water seal grooves in the plate. iv heard ther are big gains in power and torque. im also bridging front and rear s/5 plates. large turbo etc
