You know I got the Drift Bible and I must say it is one good tool in helping you learn. I dont know about most of you, but I'm a visual learner. And this DVD is really good at breaking down the different pratice methods and even the difference between the race drift and the show drift. Tsychia's video is really good. And you dont have to watch subtitles, Tsychia's voice is dubbed so you can concentrate on what he is doing.

Defintiely find a big open deserted parking lot where their are no cops... one ticket for drift and you are screwed. As stated before they dont like drifters. As soon as I can find a turbo II I want to go down to englishtown and drift with everybody else. Say anybody else know some other jersey venues or close ones in the next states?

hope that helps.

To add to what's been said, I got the "drift bible" and it's real good to learn from. Though I'm not any good myself. :-/ Some advice about getting caught, it's a big deal as you can get a ticket for wreckless driving. Here in KY, it's half your points and a serious increase in insurance. If you do manage to get a ticket, get a lawyer. Do not plead guilty. (Unless you actually do deserve it, anyways) I almost got a ticket once recently, but somehow negotiated a warning. I was lucky. The problem cops face with drifting is explaining to the courts exactly what you were doing. They must meet the statutory requirements to prove you guilty and this can get difficult because it's cumbersome to explain drifting in a court. Especially if it's by someone who doesn't really know about drifting. At least, this was my case. I pretty much knew I was in the clear when he said "you were endangering others doing.. whatever it was you were doing". In the courts I would have said something like this: "Officer, what was I doing exactly?" "You were endangering others and being wreckless." "Can you explain exactly what I was doing and how I was endangering others in an empty lot late at night?". If they try to say you were endangering yourself, ask if suicide is illegal. Anyways, you get the idea. Be smart about it. Oh, and save the questions for court. You don't want to be a smartass to the person who just might let you off with a warning. heh

To me, a ticket for wreckless driving for doing doughnuts or drifting in an empty parking lot is entirely undeserved, do what you can to escape conviction.

However, if you drift on the street around others, then you probably do deserve one...

Err, I mean reckless.

Oh, and BTW. You guys might want to look over the statutes for your state and see about how your reckless driving laws are setup, and where abouts they can't cite you. For example, in KY, police are obligated to patrol and enforce public parking lots, but not private pay lots. Something to keep in mind when you go out looking for spots.

I know these arent exactly tips on drifting, but useful stuff to know if you're going to be doing it out in public. AND FOR GOD'S SAKE BE SAFE!

i agree with the cone and donuts into drift and then figure 8s. and if you do it in a big open parking lot where you know your not going to get caught you should have fun. and if your afriad of ruinning you fd than don't do it. if your afraid to drive your car don't drive it, keep it in your garage.

Its funny how everyone think 240's and 86's are "better" for drift. hard to say realy. I've gotten in my friends 240 and found it harder then my FC. But then when he got im my car he diden't like it as much as his. It's realy a matter of personal pref. I think they are all great rides. To bad that age of cars is over...
